The Atelier for Custom
Cabinetry & Millwork
Bespoke interiors.
Custom millwork.
Designed around your architecture.
Made in Italy.
DARUSO is a Miami atelier for bespoke interiors, custom cabinetry and architectural millwork. Led by David Rousso, we design kitchens, living systems and wardrobes for one-of-a-kind homes, with Italian fabrication and details developed around each project's architecture.
Your architecture and the way you live guide the work. We consider sightlines, circulation and storage alongside the grain of a door or the curve of an island. Our team handles design and engineering, coordinates fabrication in Italy, manages delivery and oversees installation.
Kitchens
Custom kitchens,
drawn around you.
We plan bespoke kitchen cabinetry around how you cook, gather and move through your home. Island proportions, appliance integration and concealed storage form part of the architecture. Stone, timber and metal bring the design into focus.

Living Systems
Millwork that belongs
to the architecture.
Custom living room cabinetry brings shelving, media, display and concealed storage into a single composition. We develop wall paneling and built-in furniture around the room's proportions, so the millwork connects spaces throughout the home.
Continuity in the detail.
Grain direction, panel divisions and the way a door meets the wall are considered together. A consistent material palette connects the living spaces without making every room the same.
Wardrobes
Bespoke wardrobes.
A room of your own.
We design bespoke wardrobes and walk-in closets around your daily routine. Hanging space, drawers and accessories have their place; lighting and circulation make the room comfortable to use.
Open shelving, glazed doors and enclosed cabinetry are developed within the material language of your home.

Italian fabrication
Materiality.
The material is part of the design
from the first drawing.
We select stone, timber, metal and glass for their relationship to the architecture. Texture, grain, finish and light guide the specification. Our team works with specialist manufacturers in Italy to resolve the fabrication for each commission.

Planning your project
A few details
before we begin.
What is bespoke architectural millwork?
Bespoke architectural millwork is cabinetry and built-in interior work designed for a particular space. At DARUSO, it includes custom kitchens, living systems and wardrobes, with dimensions, materials and details developed around the home's architecture and the client's brief.
How does custom millwork differ from standard cabinetry?
Custom millwork starts with the dimensions and design requirements of a specific project. At DARUSO, we develop the cabinet proportions, internal storage, material combinations and junctions with surrounding finishes for that home. Standard cabinetry starts with a defined range of sizes and finishes.
How does DARUSO relate to Pedini by Daruso?
DARUSO is a distinct custom millwork brand with its own design approach and identity. Pedini by Daruso and DARUSO are sister companies. DARUSO focuses on bespoke interiors developed for the individual project, with design, engineering, Italian fabrication and installation coordinated by its team.
Where is the cabinetry manufactured?
DARUSO works with specialist manufacturers in Italy. Our team selects the fabrication resources for each project's materials, construction details and design requirements, and coordinates the work through delivery and installation.
Can you work with my architect or interior designer?
Yes. We collaborate with architects and interior designers on the layout, materials and technical coordination of the millwork. We can discuss a single kitchen or wardrobe, or a coordinated scope across several rooms.
Can DARUSO coordinate millwork across an entire home?
Yes. We design kitchens, living systems and wardrobes within one material and architectural direction. Our team develops the cabinetry, wall paneling and storage across the rooms. We coordinate design and engineering, fabrication in Italy, project management and installation as one scope.
What should I bring to the first consultation?
Share the plans you have, the rooms you want to address and any visual references. Your project location, stage and intended investment help us understand the scope. If the plans are still developing, we can begin with the architectural direction and your priorities.
